february in pictures.

February hasn't been an expectationally busy month for me, I started my new job which I love, found a super foundation and made some finishing touches to my house. I have been spending a lot more time with friends and family now I am in a different shift pattern and I seem to have had a month of binge eating too! I spent Valentines day with Jake and we enjoyed a night in with wine and chocolates and I am super excited we have come to the end of February as March is my birthday month. Here are some pictures from my month...

liz earle makeup.

In my last Liz Earle post I stated that I was waiting for an order I had placed with them to arrive which included some of their make-up, it came really quickly but unfortunately I have been so busy I wasn't able to write up my post straight away. I have been using it for a while now and have finally got around to writing my review so here are my thoughts on the Liz Earle make-up range!

beauty box swap.

About once a week I sit down and read through endless of amounts of blogs, to get inspiration, find out about new products and read peoples reviews, during one of these sessions I came across the blog ohhsoglam by Sarah. At the time she was hosting an international beauty swap, I had a read through it and it sounded amazing, I left my details and not long after I received an e-mail pairing me up with the lovely Row from What Row Chose.

my inspirations.

I started out this blog a few months ago as a sort of 'trial', I have always had a huge passion for make-up and beauty and wanted to find a way to express that, besides just going on to Jake all the time. To be honest, I was very naive when I started out and thought it would be easy to sit down and find things to write posts about every week but in reality it's like working two jobs! Thinking of new interesting topics to write about and then adding pictures, editing and actually making it a good read is such a difficult job and has made me really appreciate all the other people out there who blog. There are two things that made me decide to keep doing this, my passion and enthusiasm for fashion and beauty and the wonderful blogs that I read and follow, these people have really inspired me to keep going and it's from their posts that I take ideas for mine, so I wanted to take the time to share their fabulous blogs with you!

my daily essentials.

There's nothing I love more than having an unrestricted amount of time to get ready in the morning, being able to sit down, plan my 'look' for the day, get my tools ready, fix my hair, add accessories and not have the stress of a time limit, but anybody who works knows that this is a dream saved for weekends or days off. Although I don't always have as much time as I would like to get ready in the morning there are certain products that I just can not step outside of the house without using, these products are my absolute essentials and my favourite makeup and beauty products!

to me love me.

Christmas spirit to me is more about giving gifts than receiving them, I love watching my friends and families faces as they open gifts that I've put a lot of thought into. Having said that, it is near impossible to go into all those shops to buy presents without treating myself to a thing or two!

christmas 2014.

This year has been my first Christmas away from home and has definitely been strange! Although I missed waking up with my family it did get me thinking about starting to make our own Christmas traditions, so many families have certain ways of doing things at Christmas and i'd love to find something special for us. Anybody who has any traditions to share feel free!

Obviously one of the main aspects of Christmas are the presents and, as always, I have been very spoilt by all my loved ones. I started off my day exchanging my gifts with Jake and was completely surprised by them, as well as getting the complete Harry Potter box set on blu-ray I also got tickets to ''The Making Of Harry Potter"tour to go with it! I have been dying to go for so long and am absolutley over the moon about getting tickets :D

my goodies.

While I have been saving money and trying to not spend so much I have started to make a list at the beginning of each month of things that I need to buy, this way I knew exactly what I wanted to get so I wasn't browsing around shops and spending a fortune. It seems though, that each time I have been out shopping the products I wanted to buy haven't been there, so instead i have been substituting them with products that I think are kind of similar, because of this I have found some amazing new products and brands and thought that it would be good to review some of these on here :)

browsing not buying.

*

I have been trying to be really good this month and not spend my money, i've been so used to getting paid and then buying things that it has actually proved quite a challenge, however, I have managed to restrain myself and have only bought a couple of little bits and pieces! Even thought i'm not spending money, it doesn't mean that I haven't spent 90% of my time looking at items I want to buy and new products I want to try out so I have put together a little mini wishlist of things i've been looking at and lusting after lately.

makeup is my saviour.

As I’m new to this blogging stuff I thought I’d go for a topic that a lot of people do in blogs: ‘what’s in my makeup bag’, because every girl has a secret passion for makeup. I’m going to go through just the products that I use on a day-to-day basis, because if I did all my makeup this post would go on for days! Unfortunately I am one of those people who needs a bit of foundation and mascara to look like a normal human so I do have a lot of enthusiasm when it comes to my makeup bag :)

First I like to start with the ‘porefessional’ primer from Benefit beauty. I use a lot of Benefit beauty products because I have found that they are a pretty standard price, as far as makeup goes, but such good quality! The ‘porefessional’ primer is one of the softest primers I have ever used; it literally feels like rubbing silk on your face it also has a very slight tint which means it is brilliant to use to add a subtle bit of colour. I suffer with a bit of dry skin but since using this product it has got a million times better and means that all my other facial products settle really nicely on my skin.
