beauty wishlist.

There are so many makeup products I want at the moment, unfortunately I am not very well off this month so I have put together a wishlist of beauty products ready for next months pay day!

lipsy london two-piece.

I have finally received my uniform from Lipsy London and let me tell you I have had hours of fun picking out my outfits! I will probably talk about some of my other purchases at a later date when I get the chance to put outfits together and style them but I cannot contain my excitement for this two-piece any longer and have been talking about it to everyone!

february in pictures.

February hasn't been an expectationally busy month for me, I started my new job which I love, found a super foundation and made some finishing touches to my house. I have been spending a lot more time with friends and family now I am in a different shift pattern and I seem to have had a month of binge eating too! I spent Valentines day with Jake and we enjoyed a night in with wine and chocolates and I am super excited we have come to the end of February as March is my birthday month. Here are some pictures from my month...

Monday 2 March 2015

bargain shoes.

I don't usually buy a lot of 'practical' shoes, normally when I purchase shoes they are heels that I don't really have an event for, but now I'm in a job where I have to be on my feet all day it was time to invest in a sensible pair! I'm normally quite picky with flat shoes, because I don't wear them much I like them to be versatile so I can pair them with different outfits, so I was pleasantly surprised when I went into george at ASDA....

butterbear bath.

Last night I had the pleasure of using the gorgeous 'butterbear' ballistic from Lush, the first thing I noticed before I even put it into the water was how divine it smelled, it was so sweet and fresh and, without trying to sound too cheesy, relaxing.
I didn't really take any pictures or videos as it was white and you couldn't really see the effect it was having but as soon as I dropped it into the water it started to fizz and the little fragments of colour released along with the cocoa butter. Once the whole ballistic has dissolved I jumped in and straight away I could feel the moisture in the bath and on my skin, it was so soft and silky! The smell lingered the whole time I was in the bath which was nice as I have found the they can sometimes fade quite quickly and once I had got out of the bath my skin continued to feel moisturised.

I really enjoyed using this product as I haven't used any of the 'butter' range before and I can't wait to purchase some more to use!

mini house haul.

Even though we have been in our house for five months now I am still in the process of getting everything together and making it feel homely, this week I decided to go out and do a little bit of a shop for some living room pieces and a few items for my kitchen, as I am now changing it to pastels.

Monday 23 February 2015

liz earle makeup.

In my last Liz Earle post I stated that I was waiting for an order I had placed with them to arrive which included some of their make-up, it came really quickly but unfortunately I have been so busy I wasn't able to write up my post straight away. I have been using it for a while now and have finally got around to writing my review so here are my thoughts on the Liz Earle make-up range!

Friday 20 February 2015

beauty box swap.

About once a week I sit down and read through endless of amounts of blogs, to get inspiration, find out about new products and read peoples reviews, during one of these sessions I came across the blog ohhsoglam by Sarah. At the time she was hosting an international beauty swap, I had a read through it and it sounded amazing, I left my details and not long after I received an e-mail pairing me up with the lovely Row from What Row Chose.

l'oreal true match foundation.

I bought this foundation a few weeks ago and have been using it daily so I felt like it was time to do a review. I actually purchased this after hearing Victoria from inthefrow talk about it on one of her videos, she always makes really good recommendations so I know it would be a good foundation, unfortunately I wasn't able to do a match test so I looked through the various different shades and decided to go for 'C3 Rose Beige' which was the closest to my skin tone.

I always apply my foundation by putting it on to the back of my hand and then using a brush, the first thing I noticed was that it came out very runny, I was a bit worried that this would mean it didn't apply as well and would look thin and patchy but once it goes on the skin it is really thick and gives great coverage. It adds a little bit of moisture too but it takes seconds to sink in so it looks natural, doesn't leave a shine and because it is so light you almost forget you have it on!

It is my main foundation at the moment and I love using it, I would highly recommend it but there are a lot of shades to choose from so if you can, get a match test done first!

bath time ft. simply supplements.

Having dry skin and hair I am always on the look out for exciting new things to try that can add some extra moisture, so when I was sent some oils from Simply Supplements this week I was very eager to try them out.

Sunday 15 February 2015

sorry!

I would like to just quickly apologise to any of my blog readers who are a bit confused at the moment. Blogger deleted all of my post pictures for some reason, I am in the process of reloading them but with work out has been difficult to find time to resource them all again. Hopefully all posts should be back to normal by tonight!

Thursday 12 February 2015

penguin bathtime.

Okay time for another one of my Lush baths and this time I went for the 'Christmas Penguin'.

Wednesday 11 February 2015

going short.

As some of you may have noticed over the past few weeks my hair has gotten significantly shorter! I have been debating for a while whether to get it cut into a bob or not and so for my Christmas meal I decided to go for a change, new colour and a cut! When I got to the salon though I was too chicken to do it so after having it dyed red I only got four inches taken off, which for me still felt like a huge difference at the time!

Looking in the mirror the other week though felt really unhappy with the length, it wasn't the long hair I used to have but wasn't noticeably short either, it was just a boring medium, so I rang my partners sister and decided to go for it. I went round and told her roughly how short I wanted it and within the hour I had a completely new look. I'm not going to lie it was so scary getting that much taken off, you'll see the difference in the pictures, but I absolutely love it now and am so happy I did it, I still love my long hair but this is such a statement look for me and I feel like it suits me well (even if other people don't)!

Some of the benefits have been that it's so much easier to wash now and uses much less product and I also feel more confident wearing it curly, which I never have before!
Have any of you gone through big hair changes recently? Let me know!

lipsy wishlist.

As you may know from a recent post I was due to be starting my new career in Lipsy, which started today! Part of my promotion role for their clothes and new lines is to wear their clothes which means for the past couple of week I have been looking online for items to fill up my working wardrobe with, these are a few of my favourite items I have picked out.

Saturday 7 February 2015

beautiful bristol.

I am very lucky that one of my partners sisters is also one of my closest friends and someone I love to spend time with. After popping round the other day for a quick catch up we decided to plan a cheap day out in Bristol and find fun things to do for free (or nearly free!). There is so much to do in Bristol that costs money and I always forget about the other things you can do, and also that a day out is what you make here, so here is what we got up to.

valentines £20 gift guide.

Valentines day is just around the corner and once again we all have the struggle of finding our loved ones gifts! Me and my partner have been together for over five years now so in all honesty we don't really 'celebrate' Valentines day but we will always get each other a little gift and card. We moved out a few months ago so, unfortunately, we have to be a bit grown up about what we spend money on now which has led me to looking into cheap (but still fun) gifts to give, so here is my £20 or under Valentines gift guide!

Wednesday 4 February 2015

january in pictures.

I know I'm running a bit late as we are now in February (oh my goodness!) but I have just rounded up a few of my highlights from January so you guys can see what I have been up to over the past busy month!

Tuesday 3 February 2015

konichiwa!

As I mentioned in a post I put up a few months ago I was able to, not only, visit Japan but actually return there! I visited there in 2013 with one of my closest friends and had the most amazing time ever, last year I returned with my partner and had made a little list of places I would like to either visit again or see for the first time. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do everything as I caught a horrible virus and spent the last couple of days in bed but I still had a brilliant time.

Monday 2 February 2015

pink pout.

Like all women, I have way to many lipsticks and glosses, waay to many. I was setting up my new makeup organiser the other day and realised that out of my ten million lip products I probably only actually wear a handful of them, some for day-to-day, some more for nights out and some just when I fancy a change, so I decided to have a rummage through and pick out my favourites. I am going to divide this into two post, one for light lipsticks and one for darks as otherwise I think post would go on forever! So, in no particular order, here are my top eight lights!

Saturday 31 January 2015

my lbd.

Every women should have an LBD, the little black dress that can be dressed up/down worn for a meal, worn for a night out or just with tight and flats for a day outfit. It's one of those items of clothing that should always be in your wardrobe but for such a basic piece of clothing it is so hard still to find the right one! I always look for LBD's online and have never been able to find a style I like so I had never owned one until very recently when I received one as a gift.

Thursday 29 January 2015

making changes.

As I have mentioned many times I have not been that active on this blog lately (I am so sorry!), there has been a lot going on in my life and I have actually stuck to one of my New Year Resolutions, being happier! I have been evaluating lots of different aspects of my life and the past few weeks there have been some biiig changes going on....

Monday 26 January 2015

winter nails.

I was very fortunate this week to receive a tutorial from Julep with some useful tips for keeping healthy nails throughout the cold winter months. Working with children, doing housework and genreal day-to-day duties mean my hands and nails are not always in the best condition so I have followed their routine, mixed up with a few tricks of my own to help me beat the cold, cracked skin and nasty nails winter brings!

Sunday 25 January 2015

think pink.

I tried out another one of my Lush bath bombs the other day from my little Lush haul and I have to say it was absolutely beautiful, I chose the 'think pink' bath bomb to try, I have heard so many people go on about this one over the past few months I thought it must be good!

Friday 23 January 2015

movie night, my top 10.

The past few weeks have been particularly freezing and what better way to tackle the cold than having a nice hot bubble bath before curling up under a blanket with a film! I subscribed to Netflix last year as I am always watching films and thought it would be nice to have them at my disposal but, unfortunately, I am a creature of habit and find I just end up watching the same ones over and over again or shows I have watched before. It got me thinking about the films I do really enjoy and what my absolute favourite films are, I have watched so many films it's unreal but there are always those that I can watch time and time again and not ever get bored of so I've decided to put a little post together about my all time favourite 10! (these are not in order)!

Saturday 17 January 2015

january glossybox.

This month after hearing many good things and looking up several beauty boxes online I decided to purchase my first Glossybox. I only subscribed for one month as I was unsure whether I would like to products and at £10 (excluding p&p) it wasn't a lot to spend to test it out. I had a sneak preview of two products, neither of which I had heard of before, and then waited for the arrival of my Glossybox!

Tuesday 13 January 2015

curly hair routine ft. tigi pro.

For years I have stressed over my curly hair, the big frizz and unruly stray curls drove me insane so I spent most of my life using chemicals and irons to try and keep it straight, bombarding it with products, growing it, cutting it, everything! As I have grown older I have started to embrace my curls and look for ways to keep it under control, this year, after receiving some amazing presents and looking up peoples thoughts on 'the best way to control frizzy hair' online I have finally found a solution that works for me, yay! I wanted to share this with all of you and I hope if there is anyone out there with curly hair who is going through the same issues I went through that this may help.

Saturday 10 January 2015

my day to night outfit.

This weekend I have come down to Newquay for our annual family get together to see family and remember my beautiful Gran. Whenever I go away I always pack far too much so this year I thought I would be good and only bring one outfit for for each day.

Friday 9 January 2015

liz earle luxury.

I have been a huge fan of Liz Earle products for many years now and I was so fortunate to receive a beautiful botanical gift set of theirs for Christmas which contained a number of gorgeous products that I couldn't wait to use! It was a bath and body set and, as with every Liz Earle product, was presented so beautifully, I'm even considering keeping the box after the products are used up because it's so pretty. After swooning over the presentation of the products it was then time to get them out and give them a try!

Wednesday 7 January 2015

space girl bathtime.

I have been using Lush products for, I don't even know how long now, it was one of those shops I used to go in for fun when I was younger because of all the colours and smells, then as I got a little bit older and started to get my pocket money and would try to gather up enough money to buy a bath bomb, because everyone know Lush are famous for their bath bombs, and then I got a job and joined the real world and started to purchase their various other products. As wonderful as all their other products are I feel the bath bombs are still the heart of Lush for me so I've decided to try out a load of their both ballistics and see what different effects they have, which means having a lot of fun, colourful baths!

Monday 5 January 2015

my inspirations.

I started out this blog a few months ago as a sort of 'trial', I have always had a huge passion for make-up and beauty and wanted to find a way to express that, besides just going on to Jake all the time. To be honest, I was very naive when I started out and thought it would be easy to sit down and find things to write posts about every week but in reality it's like working two jobs! Thinking of new interesting topics to write about and then adding pictures, editing and actually making it a good read is such a difficult job and has made me really appreciate all the other people out there who blog. There are two things that made me decide to keep doing this, my passion and enthusiasm for fashion and beauty and the wonderful blogs that I read and follow, these people have really inspired me to keep going and it's from their posts that I take ideas for mine, so I wanted to take the time to share their fabulous blogs with you!

Sunday 4 January 2015

my river island wishlist.

As much as I love a good sale I am a sucker for new season stock and being a huge lover of River Island as soon as their stock was released I started compiling my wishlist. River Island is one of the very few shops I seem to be able to walk in to for a browse and leave with a complete outfit, from tops and trousers to dresses and bags, they always seem to have items that I adore in there. I have done a bit of 'online research' into their new stock and have chosen eight of my  'must-have' pieces for this month.

Saturday 3 January 2015

my daily essentials.

There's nothing I love more than having an unrestricted amount of time to get ready in the morning, being able to sit down, plan my 'look' for the day, get my tools ready, fix my hair, add accessories and not have the stress of a time limit, but anybody who works knows that this is a dream saved for weekends or days off. Although I don't always have as much time as I would like to get ready in the morning there are certain products that I just can not step outside of the house without using, these products are my absolute essentials and my favourite makeup and beauty products!

Thursday 1 January 2015

goodbye 2014, hello 2015.

I was going to put a post up yesterday with my 'New Years Resolutions' but as I wrote down the usual 'lose weight', 'visit different countries', and 'eat healthier' cliches I started to think 'what do I really want from this year?'. 2014 was a pretty amazing year for me, I turned 21, got promoted at work, got to finally stay in the Thorpe Park hotel, went to Gran Canaria for the second time with Jake, took my first holiday in years with my family, finally moved in with Jake after five years and got the opportunity to go back and visit Tokyo again. so what New Years Resolutions could I make to ensure 2015 was even better?
